Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ATS Scorer (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information when you use our website and free ATS resume checker at https://ats-score.vaqnova.com (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Your resume: processed in memory, never stored

When you upload a resume (PDF or DOCX) and, optionally, paste a job description:

• The file is sent to our server over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
• It is read in memory to extract its text, the text is scored, and the result is sent back to your browser.
• The file, the extracted text and the job description are not written to disk, not saved in any database and not logged. They are discarded as soon as the request finishes, normally within a few seconds.
• We do not use your resume to train any model, build profiles or contact you.

Your score report exists only in your browser tab. If you close or refresh the page, it is gone — we cannot recover it because we never had a copy.

2. No account required

You can use every feature without signing up. We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number to check a resume. If you choose to email us, we receive your email address and message and use them only to reply.

3. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, some technical information is processed when you visit:

• Server and security logs: our hosting provider (Vercel) processes your IP address, browser type and the pages requested in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Our upload endpoint uses your IP address briefly, in memory, to apply a rate limit of 20 scans per 10 minutes.
• Analytics: we use Vercel Web Analytics to understand which pages are visited. It collects aggregated, anonymised data (such as page views, referrer, country and device type), does not use cookies, and does not track you across other websites.
• Preferences: your light/dark theme choice is stored in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device.

4. Advertising and cookies

To keep the Service free, we show ads provided by Monetag, a third-party advertising network. Monetag and its partners may use cookies, web beacons, device identifiers and similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see them, measure performance and prevent fraud. These partners may process your IP address and information about your browser and device. Their use of this data is governed by their own privacy policies, including Monetag's privacy policy.

We only use non-intrusive ad formats. We do not use pop-unders, redirect ads or push-notification subscriptions, and ads never have access to your resume. Ads are not shown on this Privacy Policy, the Terms or the Contact page.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, block third-party cookies, or use your device's advertising settings to limit personalised ads. Blocking cookies does not stop the resume checker from working.

5. Affiliate links

Some links on the site are affiliate links (for example to resume builders, LinkedIn Premium or online courses). If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The partner site may set its own cookies to record the referral; its privacy policy applies once you leave our site.

6. How we use information

• to provide the resume checker and show your results;
• to keep the Service secure and prevent abuse (rate limiting, security logs);
• to understand overall usage and improve the Service (aggregated analytics);
• to show ads and affiliate offers that keep the Service free;
• to reply to messages you send us.

We do not sell, rent or trade personal data.

7. Legal basis (GDPR) and India's DPDP Act

If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, we process the limited data described above on the basis of our legitimate interests in running a secure, free service (hosting, security, aggregated analytics), and on the basis of your consent where required for advertising cookies. Processing your resume is necessary to provide the scan you request, and it is not retained.

For users in India, we follow the principles of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023: we process only the personal data needed for the stated purpose, we do not retain resume data, we use reasonable security safeguards, and you can contact us with any grievance about personal data. Because we do not store resumes or create accounts, in most cases we hold no personal data about you at all.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a data protection authority. Since we do not keep resumes or user accounts, there is usually nothing for us to access or delete; for data held by our advertising and analytics providers, please also see their policies. 9. Data security and retention

All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. Resume data is never retained. Messages you email us are kept only as long as needed to respond and are then deleted. Hosting logs are retained by our provider for a limited period according to its standard policies.

10. Children

The Service is intended for job seekers aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. International users

Our hosting provider may process requests on servers located outside your country. Where this happens, the provider applies appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
