This free ATS resume checker for freshers compares your resume with the 20 keywords that appear most often in Fresher job posts, then checks your sections, formatting, contact details and bullet points. Paste a real job description in the tool for an exact match.
Freshers face the toughest ATS filters because they have no job history to match against. The system still looks for skills, education details, projects, internships and certifications that match the job post. Recruiters hiring graduates through Naukri, LinkedIn, Internshala or campus drives scan for your degree, graduation year, CGPA or percentage, relevant skills, and proof that you can apply them — projects, internships, hackathons or competitions. A one-page resume with clean sections and specific, honest numbers beats a long resume full of hobbies and generic objectives.

Sections to include in a Fresher resume
Use standard headings so the ATS can map your information correctly. For freshers, these sections matter most:
- Summary: Replace the generic objective with 2–3 lines: degree, top skills, one project or internship result, target role.
- Education: Put Education near the top with degree, college, year and CGPA/percentage. Add Class 12 and 10 only if strong.
- Projects: Your projects are your experience. Write 2–3 bullets each with tools used and a measurable result.
- Internships: List internships like jobs, with company, duration and achievements — even short or virtual ones.
- Certifications: NPTEL, Google, Coursera, AWS, HackerRank or Infosys Springboard certificates relevant to the role.
Common Fresher resume mistakes
- A generic objective like "seeking a challenging position in a reputed organisation".
- Listing hobbies, father's name, marital status and a photo — they waste space and are irrelevant for ATS.
- No projects or internships, only a list of subjects.
- Using a fancy two-column Canva template that ATS cannot read.
- Sending the same resume to every company instead of matching keywords from each job post.
Sample Fresher resume bullet point
Built a college attendance web app in Python and Flask used by 450 students and 20 faculty members.
Why it works: it starts with an action verb, names the tools a Fresher ATS search looks for, and ends with a measurable result. Rewrite your own bullets in the same shape — action + tool or skill + result. Find more examples on our Fresher keywords page and ready-to-edit Fresher resume summaries.
